Italian O Bag

My Customizable Italian O-Bag

This summer we took a family trip to Italy and we had such a great time!  This should be no surprise but we took a little time to shop in Capri.  We came across something new to me called O Bag, they carry customizable goods.  They have watches, shoes and other accessories but I ended up purchasing a bag and an insert.  It was a little tough to choose with so many options, you can buy different inserts and sets of handles to mix things up with color.

It’s so easy to change things out, you just unscrew the pieces, make the swap and secure them back in.

Customizable Italian O Bag

This bag is lightweight and durable and the outside easily wipes clean.  You can use it with or without the insert so you can carry all kinds of things.  Including my favorite puppy!  Winnie of course!!

Their bags come in all kinds of sizes, shapes and colors and it was a nice surprise to find they have O Bag store locations in the US in some of the bigger cities like Chicago, Nashville and Boston, to name a few.  You can even go on their website and take your time to mix and match items.  I took probably too much time in the Capri store but I couldn’t help myself.  It was little overwhelming but I love my new bag and it is just my style.

My daughter ended up getting one of their watches which are really cute and interchangeable too.  My step daughter got the coolest back pack to make things easier when she is taking her three children places.  It is really stylish and functional!  I am hoping to see in the near future more of the stores popping up in the US,  but for now I will shop online which is something I am pretty good at.

My Favorite Summer Dresses

My Favorite Summer Dresses

There is really only one time of year that I love to wear a dress.  It is in the summer!  I do not like wearing them in the winter because it is so cold outside and I don’t care for pantyhose or tights.  I also don’t particularly like wearing formal gowns.   I just don’t feel like myself or comfortable.  However when it comes to the summer I prefer wearing a dress.  I don’t know what it is but I just feel more comfortable and relaxed.  I have some friends who haven’t really worn many and they need to jump over to the other side!  They are great!  I like them on hot sticky days especially a linen dress that is a blend.  They are light weight, easy to wear, and you don’t stick to them.  I always check to see what the fabric is made out of.  I want to make sure that if I do sweat it won’t stretch a lot and it won’t show sweat marks.  It is the worst and I have had that happen before.  One time it was so hot outside that when I got up my butt was soaking wet!  Talk about a problem!  It was embarrassing.  So make sure to check the fabric.  The last thing you want is for someone to tell you sat in something when it is actually your own sweat!  Ugh!

I have below some of my favorites.  Make sure to note the fabrics are lightweight and breathable!  All good things when buying a dress.

Mother's Day Shopping Guide

Mother’s Day Shopping Guide

If you are like me, Mother’s Day can sometimes leave you thinking, “What in the world do I buy my mom?”  I am sharing this Mother’s Day Shopping Guide and hoping it helps you with some ideas and selections.  I love giving gifts but sometimes I get a little stumped. I always like to make sure that I get something they would want for themselves.  Our moms are pretty special ladies.  If you are lucky like I have been, they can be your best friend and cheerleader so I want to make sure the gift is just right!

I have separated this guide into categories such as the gardener, fashionista, the crafter, the hostess and many more specialities to make it a little easier on you.  And shopping for gifts online and get things sent directly to the recipients is so convenient!  I also did a blog post last year about a company I love called PillowGrace, I think any of their products would be great for a Mother’s Day gift.

While your shopping, sit back, listen to some music and drink your favorite beverage.   Make sure to tell your mom or grandma how much you love and appreciate them this Mother’s Day.  In addition, if you are a mother I wish you a wonderful and blessed day!  Motherhood is one of those privileges that can never fully be described but is the best and most rewarding journey we as women will ever take!  Happy Mother’s Day!

Spring Break Workout

Spring Break Shopping Guide

Finally, spring break is just around the corner!  It always gets me going when I know a beach is soon on my horizon! I am all packed and trying to get in that last workout before I head out!  I am infatuated with the bright colors of anything Lily Pulitzer.  That bright pink makes me feel energized.  Today I am sharing with you a Spring Break Shopping Guide, A.K.A. some of my favorite obsessions!

Floral dresses are all the rage, I like how they are soft and feminine.  The contrast of my moods can be the bright colors followed by the more muted tones of the florals.  Mixing it up has always been my mantra.  I can’t just stick with one thing.

I love so many of the cool styles this season, like the platform sandals.  They are a must!  They are so comfortable and versatile.  I would suggest packing only black and gold shoes & sandals and keeping it neutral so you can coordinate your shoes from day to night much easier.

When you are packing for the 7-8 day vacation, the best tip I can give you is to keep your clothes to 2-3 color pallets.  It will make mixing things up much easier and keeping your luggage fees under control!  For example, if you have black, blues and pinks, it’s so much easier to coordinate outfits and keep shoes to a minimum.  Navy is a great neutral as well.

I hope this Spring Break Shopping Guide helps de-stress packing, you can also find 5 great packing tips here.

Gearing Up For The Beach

I know so many of you are getting ready or thinking about Spring Break. The weather lately has been a bit of a downer. I couldn’t take it anymore and had to make the best of what we have here in Michigan. One day we had sunshine, so I pretended it was warm. I was making a practice run at the beach! Sometimes gearing up for the beach can help your mood. A little laughter always does the trick for me (hence the fact I decided to take a walk to our lake front beach for some sunshine) LOL! I think the neighbors thought I was a little desperate!
