I have alway been interested in healthy living and the benefits of exercise. I have been motivated since I was a child to stay as healthy as I could, I think it began out of fear of being sick. Over the years I have learned a lot from my personal trainer, Arline. She is a certified personal trainer and has a passion for exercise, healthy living & nutrition. 12 years ago I was ready to get serious about my training and this was the beginning of a great friendship with Arline. I am excited to share some things I’ve learned along the way.

This green smoothie recipe is so tasty and good for you! I know the green color can be a little unappealing but the taste and nutritional value is awesome! The first time I made this my hubby thought I was going a little too far with the health food and thought I was crazy. He actually tried it and thought it was pretty good. It only requires a few ingredients and it is packed full of energy and healthy fats. Plus it has a low glycemic index.
A few years ago my parents moved to Nashville and recently I was able to visit them for 5 days. I must say I was looking forward to spending some one on one time with them because it had been almost 20 years since I had that opportunity. It was going to be a bit of a getaway. My daughter was coming with me but ended up heading to Orlando with my sister on a Universal tour! I was secretly happy I didn’t have to chaperone that trip!
When we built our home one of the things I wanted to duplicate from our previous home was our covered porch. It is such a great way to entertain and relax. My husband and I love sitting out there and either taking a nap, reading a book or just visiting with friends. Our porch started with all neutrals and stone. Doesn’t sound very relaxing does it? It wasn’t very inviting either. I went on a mission to add to it and create a comfy outdoor space. I learned a few things when designing our home and worked with The Iron Grate to give it that comfortable mood.
