My good friend and interior decorator, Kali Weber, owner of Chatham House Interior Design invited me to the Grand Opening of her design store in Petoskey, Michigan. I was excited to support her new endeavor. I love to support women having their own business and Kali is someone who always inspires me. It was an easy choice to head up to and visit Petoskey, Michigan. I was really excited about going because it had been a number of years since I visited Petoskey. There is some of the best shopping in the state in this quaint town. There are so many summer activities such as boating, shopping and biking, it’s hard to fit it all into a couple of days.
Our trip started with stopping by her store, Chatham House Interior Design. She wasn’t quite ready for the opening so we helped her unpack and set things up. It turned into more fun than I expected because she has so many inspiring items in her store. Kali is partnered with California Closets, Ralph Lauren and many other well known companies. She also has a beautiful boutique where she sells Julie Vos jewelry and robes from Blush Label. Of course I had to be her first customer and purchase a few items!!
The next day we decided to do a little more shopping in Petoskey, Michigan. I couldn’t resist! I stopped by the following places and I highly recommend them:
Fustini’s Oils and Vinegars which is a wonderful place that offers inspiration for cooking with a variety of oils and vinegars! They even offer cooking classes. I can’t wait to go back and try a class or two.
Mettlers American Mercantile I loved this store! Everything was American Made and I purchased several items. Mettlers has quality products and it feels good to know that I was putting dollars back into our economy.
Threads is a high end women’s clothing store. My friends and I had our own fashion show and ended up purchasing a few great pieces.
At that point in the day I realized my pocket book needed a break and it was time for dinner. We went to a fantastic place called Chandlers. They have a delicious charcuterie board and a great wine list. At the end of the night we headed back to Kali’s house. We settled in and had some good conversation and a lot of laughs.
On our final day in Petoskey we stopped by the new store and helped Kali with a few last minute details. Of course we couldn’t leave without a celebratory toast with some great champagne, Veueve Cliquot. I am super proud of Kali and Chatham House Interior Designs. She has a great team and if you have the chance to stop by Chatham House Interior Design, please tell her I said “hi”.
It was such an enjoyable trip! We will be planning a visit back to Petoskey, Michigan in the near future.
