I am so excited for my family to arrive on Thanksgiving! It is one of my favorite holidays. Actually, it is my favorite holiday. For the last 18 years we have hosted almost every Thanksgiving at our house. It is fun to get together and just relax and relish the time together. We always enjoy some of our staples such as our favorite mushroom gravy or my mom’s pecan pie! However, my family likes to try new things and add to the goodness. This year I am going to make this yummy dessert, The Frozen Turkey.

Keeping things simple for myself is key when I am hosting. I would suggest adding this butternut squash soup recipe to your meal plan for Thanksgiving. I love to serve this during the day before the “big meal” on Thanksgiving. You can make it a day or two before then on the day of put it in the crockpot. Set out some bowls for family to serve themselves during the lunch hour. It could also make a great appetizer. When we plan our Thanksgiving, we have the house filled with appetizers prior to the big feast. This soup is great to munch on before we sit down to eat together.
This Easy Pear and Pancetta Appetizer is going to be the hit of your next party! I love it because it is super simple, looks fancy and anyone can put this together! No culinary skills required and it looks fabulous! Just follow the directions below and enjoy! It doesn’t get much easier than that! For those that don’t know, Pancetta is Italian bacon, not to be confused with Prosciutto, which is Italian ham.
I am excited to share with you this delicious fresh apple salad recipe. When I need a hearty salad to keep me fuller longer this one does the trick. It has healthy proteins, good fats and full of nutrients. I have a blog post on how to cook the perfect hard cooked egg. Make sure to check it out before starting. I’ve also used this honey cider dressing on food other than this salad, like turkey meatballs and grilled chicken. I love the fact that I am using my homegrown honey for the dressing recipe. I actually have another fun blog post about our honey bees, you can read about it here.
