Compassion For The Children Of Incarcerated Parents-One Hero’s Story

One of my goals for the blog is to share stories of people that have taken their pain from a life experience or something that tugged at their heart and how they turned it into their passion.  This story is about Shirley Cochran the founder of Motherly Intercession.  Motherly Intercession serves the children of incarcerated parents.  The intention is to break the cycle of intergenerational incarceration.  The children are often hidden victims.  Unfortunately, the children’s needs change, increase, and can go unmet following parent’s incarceration.

Delicious Quick and Easy Salmon Recipe!

Baked Salmon is one of my favorite dishes!  I am always looking for a fresh and easy recipe for salmon.  It can sometimes get boring and this recipe with the Teriyaki sauce is amazing!  My sister in law, Lynne, made it at one of our family gatherings.  I couldn’t get enough of it and ate so much I was starting to feel embarrassed.  Have you ever done that before?  Please tell me you have!  Anyway, I had to ask her how she made it and where she got the fish. Are You Looking For A Restaurant With Good Eats? Look No Further!

Having a glass of wine with my husband and some friends and indulging in amazing food with them is something I love to do.  The Corner Bar in Fenton MI provides everything I love when eating out.  It’s not your ordinary gastro pub.  My nephew, Justin, along with his wife Liz are the owners.  Justin is from Denver and worked in the restaurant business for years before he moved to Michigan.  The menu boasts gourmet dishes that are creative, fresh and delicious.  He is also an amazing mixer at the bar with exciting and out of the box ideas for mixing innovative drinks.  One of my favorite dishes is The Mad Season Salad.  I love it with the grilled salmon.  The opening act of  Krispy Brussel Sprouts is also amazing.  They are a staple for me when I visit.  The Corner Bar has some of the best drinks in town.  The Moscow Mule is always a favorite.  The beer selection is really good too.
