Easy Pear And Pancetta Appetizer

This Easy Pear and Pancetta Appetizer is going to be the hit of your next party!  I love it because it is super simple, looks fancy and anyone can put this together!  No culinary skills required and it looks fabulous!   Just follow the directions below and enjoy!  It doesn’t get much easier than that!  For those that don’t know, Pancetta is Italian bacon, not to be confused with Prosciutto, which is Italian ham.

On a side note, I think you could change the recipe up a bit.  You could use Blue or Gorgonzola Cheese instead.  You could also use a cracker if pears where not in season or you didn’t have any on hand, I love the Triscuit Thins.  If you are wondering what wine would pair well with this, I would suggest a chardonnay, La Crema is one of my personal favorites.  I hope you explore new possibilities and enjoy this pear and pancetta appetizer!

Ingredients

  • 1 Pear
  • 1/3 pound Pancetta thinly sliced
  • 4 ounces Goat Cheese crumbled
  • Fresh Cracked Pepper
  • Honey
  • Thyme Sprigs

Instructions

  1. Bake pancetta slices at 350 degrees for 8 minutes or until golden brown or crisp. Set aside for 10 minutes till cool.

  2. Core and cut pear into thin slices.

  3. Place pancetta on pear, top with goat cheese.

  4. Top with Thyme sprig and sprinkle with pepper to taste.   Drizzle with honey just before serving.
