Father’s Day comes around every year and I’m sure you have the same troubles as I do… What gift could I possibly buy for my father that he doesn’t already have? I confess, I don’t have any tricks up my sleeve. However, I will share with you my simple decision to make gift giving less stressful by reminding myself that it is the thought that counts.
My father actually told me last year, “Don’t buy me another cookbook, special sauce, or dress shirt.” Was I heart broken? No, not really. I am fortunate enough to say that I have a great relationship with my dad and he always tells me what he’s thinking. I actually laughed when he said this because it is so TRUE! He would be just as happy to hear how much I love him.
During my quest to find him something new for Father’s Day, I searched the internet and found something unique and very useful – The Pistachio Pedestal. Yes, this is for real. It’s a two-tiered server that solves the nuts problem; the leftover debris that piles up in your hand, in the dish, or on the floor. The Pistachio Pedestal holds whole nuts on the upper tier and then the lower level offers a place to stash the shells without having to worry about where to place them. He loves pistachios and so I knew I hit the jackpot!
I would love to hear your Father’s Day gift giving ideas.
